Dr. Jeremy Westerfield

Jeremy Atticus Benjamin Apollo Westerfield was born to Alan and Barbara Westerfield, in a middle class neighborhood of New Jersey. His parents read to him from a young age, and by the age of two he was reading Dr. Seuss to his parents. By three, he was reading at a 6th grade level. At age five he scored perfect on the SATs. At age seven he graduated high school mid-year, and his parents moved to Cambridge, MA so that he could matriculate to MIT, which had offered him a full scholarship. By puberty he had Ph.D’s in physics and engineering, and switched to Harvard Medical School. However, his age prevented him from admission to an intern program there, and so he switched again to Miskatonic University in nearby Arkham, MA, and completed their internship and residency by the time he came of age at 18. During his time there, their Department of Thaumaturgy caught his eye, but he was prevented work there by his parents. Once he came of age, he pursued one last degree, and in another two years he had his 4th doctorate.

Every professor he’d been taught by expected great things from Dr. Westerfield, probably major advances in medical technology. Instead he disappeared, and didn’t surface for another fifteen years. Gone was the idealistic young man with an insatiable thirst for knowledge. Instead the world saw a scientist in his prime, possessing fantastic technologies he no doubt invented himself, surrounded by mystic forces, and with a grim determination to… well, nobody is really sure what he wants, but he does want something.
